SOLD to the Snavely Family! - Ashley - Red & Black Tortie Female - Born November 11th
Here she is! Ashley is a spectacular red and black tortoiseshell (tortie) kitten. With only about four born at our home each year, this mosaic tortie is our rarest color by far. Many torties have a black background but Ashley is a special white with bold and distinct color markings.
Interesting fact: 99.9% of tortie cats are female. The chromosome linked to coloring in cats is the X chromosome; therefore, female cats (XX) have two sets of genetic information that can determine their coat color. Imagine that the embryo shuts off one X chromosome in each cell, resulting in orange and black color variations in female coats. Because a male cat has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome, he’ll only be orange or black — not both.”
Be warned that "tortitude" is a real thing that's been proven by science! So what about tortitude, otherwise known as tortie-specific personality and attitude? Descriptors that likely come to mind with tortie cat parents include sassy, fiercely independent, strong-willed and dare we say, diva.
With a birthday in November, unfortunately Ashley won't make it to your home for Christmas. If this is a gift for a loved one (or for yourself!), we'll take a few holiday themed pictures, usually with the kitten peeking out of a nicely wrapped box. We'll do everything that we can to make their arrival at your home special.
We are asking $2,800 for this kitten plus a $250 sterilization fee. A $300 non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit will be applied towards the total purchase price of the cat. Target release date is around mid February (think Valentine's Day). For more information, please write to KatlinaSiberians@gmail.com.
